A century of Mosely history lives on in Galveston
Few people know Galveston quite like Mack Mosely. A lifelong Born on the Island (BOI), Mack spent decades working in pest control, traveling the island's neighborhoods, businesses, and back streets while getting to know generations of Galvestonians.
His family's story is deeply woven into Galveston's history. In 1913, his grandfather, Dr. Joseph Mack Mosely Sr., opened his first medical practice on the island. Years later, Mack's father, Dr. Joseph Mack Mosely III, joined the practice, continuing a family tradition of caring for the community.
Here, Mack shares his memories of growing up in Galveston, reflects on the legacy of his father and grandfather, and looks back on the people, places, and experiences that have shaped his life on the island he has always called home.
