Some places are more than a night out. They’re part of Galveston’s story.

Club 68 is keeping the music, laughter and fellowship alive in a building that has meant so much to the island’s Black community for generations.

Once home to the legendary Vagabond Club — and later Margaret’s Club and Club Paradise — the venue at 3112 Market is still the go-to spot for some Big Fun.

I stopped by recently, and the energy was contagious. The music was off the chain, the dance floor stayed packed, and everywhere you looked people were laughing, reconnecting and having a great time.

Here’s a look at a night where the good times rolled and a proud island tradition remains strong.
