For Rob Quintero, Galveston is more than home

If you’ve been around Galveston for a while, chances are you know Rob Quintero — or at least know his name.

An attorney, longtime civic leader and community advocate, Rob has spent decades involved in the life of his hometown. The Ball High School graduate has served the island in a variety of roles, including the Galveston Park Board of Trustees, while remaining deeply involved with Galveston LULAC Council 151 and numerous civic and community causes.

But titles tell only part of his story. Rob is outspoken about politics and issues affecting his community, passionate about Latino representation and voting rights, and grounded in a faith he shares almost daily through prayers and words of encouragement on social media.

I sat down with Rob Quintero to talk about his life, what keeps him involved — and why, after all these years, Galveston still holds a part of his heart.
