Behind every face on The Strand, there’s a story. Andrew Helms' happens to be stitched together with fashion, perseverance and family.
I met Andrew while walking The Strand, and it didn’t take long to discover there was a story behind the man and his love of fashion.
Andrew is a fashion designer whose passion for creating clothes goes all the way back to his childhood. His journey has brought its share of highs, lows and hard lessons, but his love for the craft has never faded.
Today, Andrew makes his home in Fort Worth, and through every turn, one thing keeps him grounded and moving forward: his family. They were on the island visiting friends when I met him, and listening to his words, one thing came through loud and clear — fashion feeds his creativity, but family fuels his life.
Sometimes what keeps a dream alive isn’t success or applause. It’s knowing who you’re doing it for.
